HOW TO FIND US
August Guest House Bed and Breakfast.
Once you have been to stay at August Guest House Bed and Breakfast, there will be no problem in finding us again. But for your first visit, here are a few directions.
August Guest House is situated on the Eastside of Rosedale valley, just North of Rosedale Abbey. It outlooks over some of the most beautiful views to be found in the area. Rosedale valley is 9 miles North West of Pickering.
Take the A170 west from Pickering, then turn North at Wrelton, through Cropton and on to Rosedale Abbey. Once you reach Rosedale Abbey, take the CASTLETON road North out of the village. After 1 mile take the ROSEDALE EAST ONLY junction directly ahead, (follow the road with the motorbike on, although it may have gone by then).
Follow the road for 300 Metres and turn smart left into the car park at the rear of August Guest House.
When coming on the A170 Eastbound, some satnav systems are directing a route via Kirkbymoorside, Hutton-le-Hole, and Rosedale Chimney bank. In Hutton-le-Hole, you need to turn right, and then left after the cattle grid. This will lead you over the moors to Rosedale Chimney bank. The view of Rosedale valley when coming down the hill is quite awesome. However, the route should not be attempted in winter when roads are icy. The safer route is via Wrelton, Cropton, Rosedale Abbey.

From Castleton, take the road to Rosedale and Kirkbymoorside. After about four miles you will see Ralph's cross on the right side of the road, after which take the left turn to Rosedale. Follow the road for about 4½ miles, down a hill, and turn right to Daleside Road, (with the motorbike). A further 300 yards and you are at August Guest House Bed and Breakfast.
